More efficiency for all locations: Hauser modernizes its processes with SAP S/4HANA
Why the new SAP landscape makes Hauser faster, more transparent and more future-proof
Hauser was faced with the task of modernizing a heterogeneous system landscape that had grown over the years and creating an integrated architecture. The aim of the project was to create a future-proof S/4HANA-based system environment that would enable the seamless interaction of numerous processes and upstream systems. At the same time, existing processes were to be completely rethought and implemented closer to the SAP standard
The project at a glance
The project focused on the introduction of an integrated SAP S/4HANA system landscape in order to standardize Hauser’ s heterogeneous systems and ensure consistent processes across several countries. The aim was to rethink existing processes, bring them closer to the SAP standard and create a scalable, modern architecture.
Project focus:
- Introduction of Finance & Controlling in several countries
- Implementation of logistics processes incl. PP/DS and IBP
- Integration of eEWM and connection to WINDCHILL
- Introduction of product configuration + CPQ tool
- Use of SAP BTP for integrations
- Data harmonization and dealing with changed product series
The challenge: Heterogeneous systems and complex process landscapes
Hauser was working with a heterogeneous system landscape that had grown over the years. For a modern, integrated ERP basis, processes had to be standardized, upstream systems replaced and different data and product structures merged. The linking of numerous specialist departments across several countries was particularly challenging.
- Standardization of different systems and processes in an S/4HANA landscape
- Integration of complex logistics and planning processes (PP/DS, eEWM, CPQ, WINDCHILL)
- Parallel data harmonization and product series changes
The result: a project with a high level of technical and organizational complexity that required precise coordination, in-depth process understanding and reliable integration.
The solution: SAP S/4HANA as an integrated system platform
Together with Axians, Hauser introduced SAP S/4HANA in order to standardize the heterogeneous system landscape and seamlessly connect processes in finance, logistics and production across several countries. The solution not only included the technical introduction of the ERP system, but also the harmonization of existing processes, the integration of numerous upstream systems and the introduction of modern planning and warehouse processes.
A key success factor was the structured collaboration with the specialist departments: Key users from finance, logistics, production and product development tested the new processes intensively and provided important feedback. This close coordination ensured that the solution met both the technical requirements and thereal business processes.
The advantages at a glance
More efficient, harmonized processes
Finance, logistics and production now work on a uniform S/4HANA basis – less complexity, more consistency.
More transparency & better planning
Central finance data as well as PP/DS and IBP ensure more precise planning and faster decisions.
Optimized production and material planning
PP/DS, WINDCHILL and the CPQ tool enable stable processes and consistent material and production flows.
More stable and integrated logistics processes
eEWM and connected systems improve warehouse, purchasing and delivery processes.
Faster product configuration & more efficient sales
Multi-level configuration and CPQ facilitate quotation and variant processes.
Flexible integrations via SAP BTP
The BTP enables stable interfaces and future-proof expandability of the IT landscape.
The result: harmonized processes, more transparency and an integrated system landscape
Following the introduction of SAP S/4HANA , Hauser was able to gradually transfer the new processes to operations. In the first few weeks, the focus was on stabilization, fine-tuning and the gradual optimization of individual functions – closely coordinated with the departments involved.
The benefits became clear early on: The processes in finance, logistics and production became more standardized, more transparent and much easier to control. Thanks to the integration of PP/DS, IBP, eEWM, WINDCHILL and the external CPQ tool, consistent information is now available and process steps can be tracked end-to-end. At the same time, the harmonized system landscape reduced the coordination effort between the locations.
With increasing routine in using the new solutions, the system will unfold its full potential. Improved planning quality, structured data flows and more efficient process chains sustainably strengthen Hauser’s operational performance and create a stable basis for future expansions and international rollouts.
Why Axians was the right partner for the SAP S/4HANA implementation at Hauser
The decision to choose Axians was an obvious one for Hauser: the project required not only in-depth SAP know-how, but also the ability to standardize a heterogeneous system landscape and build an integrated architecture across several countries. Axians impressed with its experience in complex S/4HANA implementations, its expertise in logistics, production and finance processes and its ability to handle extensive integration scenarios such as PP/DS, IBP, eEWM, WINDCHILL and external CPQ tools.
Thanks to the close cooperation with the specialist departments and the structured, solution-oriented way of working, Axians was also able to reliably master challenges such as changed product series or ongoing data harmonization. The result was a stable project and a modern, integrated system landscape. It was precisely this combination of expertise, reliability and understanding of complex processes that made Axians the right partner for Hauser.
